A Week In Farm Photos March 24th - March 30th

This past week was a busy one for us. We welcomed not one, but five, brand new members into our family this week.

Last Saturday we adopted a rescue corgi. We named him Winston and despite some early challenges, he's fast endearing himself to us. We foresee a bit of training before he's trusted among the chickens and ducks, but there's plenty of time for that, since he's just about two years old.

We also hatched four ducklings: two Saxonies and two Magpies.  They are all vigorous and healthy and will be living in our spare bathtub for the next few weeks.  One thing I have to say - life is never boring around here!

  1. Hi Lisa, Nice surprise today, instead of the usual chickens...which of course is fine...there's a corgi :) in your photos! Winston is such a doll! I'm a total corgi lover and I'm in love with Winston (don't tell my boy Cowboy). Good luck with him, I'll look for more photos to come.

    1. Thank you. He really is a sweetie. So far he's very curious about the chickens, but hasn't really met them face to face, but stay tuned for many more Winston photos !

  10. Aww. Winston looks so sweet! My Aunt Patricia had a rescue Corgi. He had a nice long life with her. I think it's beyond time she rescued another one. Don't you? Love the ducklings :)

  12. YAY Winston! He'll settle in quickly, especially with a big sister shepherd to show him the ropes.

  13. You are going to love the magpie ducks. I had some a couple of years ago, but a raccoon came through and you know the rest. Winston is amazing -- you are so sweet to be his mom.
