A Week in Farm Photos April 7th - 13th

It's hard to believe that there is still snow on the ground in some parts of the country because spring is in full swing here in Virginia! Our favorite time of year, we're collecting more eggs, clipping herbs to freshen up our coop and nesting boxes, watching our ducklings grow (so fast!) and helping Winston continue to get used to life on the farm.  Enjoy a few of our favorite photos from the past week.

  3. Ha! I've got a crate of eggs with sprouts just like that on my patio, thanks to your post way back about planting sunflowers in eggshells. In fact, I will be featuring them on a post this week.
    Love that cold, wet nose...

  6. I have got to get me a basket to collect eggs in. Putting them in my pockets doesn't always work out very well. I didn't know you could grow dogs in trees? When the rooster is after my girl she would climb a tree in a minute if she could. What's funny is the girls will hang around the dog and if she is on the deck will even sit next to her and observe what is going on in the yard. As soon as the rooster shows up they all scatter like they have been doing something wrong.

  7. Great pictures ~ you are lucky to be experiencing warm weather now. We had sleet & snow on Friday and it is overcast (but milder) here in NH today. It looks like we will be getting some nice weather this week with temps in the 50's ~ Yay!!!!!!! Our hens will love that. Have a wonderful Sunday.

  8. This is Chris from Hope For Life Rescue. The picture of Winston peeking at the ducks is hysterical! And up a tree? What a character!

Is it ok if I post those 2 photos to Hope For Life's Facebook Wall? I'll put a link to your blog as well.
