What incredible and wonderful photos. It totally transports me from chilly Australia suburbia to your beautiful and amazing farm.
Love the photos.
I was looking at your pics and your chickens look so healthy. All our chickens have their feathers plucked out on their rear ends and we have to use the Blue Kote you suggested. How do you keep the chickens from plucking each other?
Bare butts can also mean mites or lice - so check to see if you spy any creepy crawlies. A dusting of DE can help with that. Our chickens have never pecked at each other. Enough space and run things to do help. I give them grains in berry boxes to kick around, piles of leaves and dirt to go through, they have a huge run with stumps to stand on...keep them busy doing other things!
Thank you for your reply. We will try this. We made up the garlic spray too but it never seemed to work for them. This is our first time to raise them and we have lost quite a few.
