Back in February when I was invited to join a handful of elite garden bloggers and attend P. Allen Smiths' annual Garden2Blog workshop at Moss Mountain Farm in Arkansas, I was ecstatic! The thought of visiting his beautiful Garden Home and get the chance to meet P. Allen Smith in person was so exciting! To have been handpicked to join other talented bloggers and authors who I have enjoyed reading over the years was something dreams are made of. However, to me, an impatient, type-A personality, it seemed that May would never arrive...
But finally it's here! I am flying down to Little Rock this morning and will spend the next few days rubbing elbows with the likes of Christina Salwitz, garden speaker and author of Fine Foliage, Robin Ripley author of Grocery Gardening, and C.L. Fornari, host of Gardenline and author of Coffee for Roses. I can't wait to meet Linda Ly, author of the Garden Betty blog, Julie Thompson-Adolf, who I follow on Facebook and her blog Garden Delights and the rest of the top gardening bloggers who will be attending.
We will attend workshops and enjoy product demos from various sponsors including Laguna, Proven Winners, Bonnie Plants, and Flexzilla (who sent me this awesome non-kink hose to try out! Thank you Flexzilla)....
A big thank you also to Jobe Organics who has already challenged each of the bloggers to create a container garden. I made this edible herbal planter for the chickens which included oregano, rosemary, basil, thyme and edible violets.
We'll be touring downtown Little Rock as well as Moss Mountain Farm ( I can't WAIT to see some of P. Allen Smith's heritage chicken and duck breeds!), digging in the dirt, learning some of the latest gardening techniquess and enjoying some local, homegrown fare at two dinners sponsored by Le Creuset. I will be sharing photos and updates both on Facebook and Instagram when I can, so be sure to follow me both places so you don't miss any of the fun!
