A Week in Farm Photos - June 1st - 7th

June 7, 2014

What a week! We got our 300,000th 'Like' on Facebook, which is a huge milestone! It just cements my belief that there are a whole lot of people out there who not only want to raise chickens naturally but have fun doing it! So a huge thank you to everyone who follows Fresh Eggs Daily and has told their friends (or even that random guy in the chicken aisle at Tractor Supply) to come check us out!

Earlier this week, I recorded a podcast with Mike the Gardner which you can listen to HERE, it's always fun to chat with Mike, he's an excellent interviewer. I was also interviewed for a magazine article that should be on newsstands next month. On a sort of different note, I was asked to be a recipe tester for a bestselling UK cookbook author's latest cookbook! How fun will that be? (I just hope she gives me the measurements in cups and tablespoons, not grams and all that!)

Also this week, my husband tilled me a new melon garden and then dumped some of our beautiful horse manure compost in it, so I should have happy, happy melons by the end of the summer!

But the most exciting thing to happen this week? We got four new Ancona ducks! They are just beautiful, and a brand new breed for us. Our other ducks took to them immediately - it's amazing how much more welcoming ducks are to newcomers than chickens. One duck apparently wants to be broody...so who knows, we might have new baby ducklings soon!  Enjoy this week's photos!

I would love for you to join me here...

    1. Thanks Marci! It's been quite the journey and so glad that you and others have been around for most, if not all, of it!

  4. Love reading your blog. I too have learned so much in the short length of time since I got my girls. I know so much about dogs but nothing about chickens. But I feel like I'm on the right track !!!
