Take a Peek at our Week December 25th - 31st

2016 has been quite the year! Lots of ups and downs, but mostly ups - fortunately - around here. This last week of the year, we experienced our first true Maine Nor'Easter which dumped about a foot of wet, heavy snow down on everything, knocking out our power for almost 24 hours and leaving us with a gorgeous winter wonderland to enjoy - once we got done shoveling and plowing and sanding that is....

This year heralded the premier of my new television show Fresh Eggs Daily with Lisa Steele airing in the Portland viewing area on WPME-TV (If you missed it, you can watch it streaming online here).

I also released my third book titled Gardening with Chickens (Voyageur Press) which is already a top-selling book in the Gardening category on Amazon and has been featured by The Associated Press, The Washington Post, ABC News, and in Birds & Blooms and American Farmhouse Style magazines.

I welcomed some wonderful new sponsors this year including Blue Seal Feeds,, Premier 1 Supplies and Fluffy Layers, bringing you giveaways, promo codes and discounts on some great new products! It's because of all of my generous sponsors that I am able to continue doing what I do, so be sure to visit and shop with them whenever possible.

I'm happy to say that 2017 is shaping up to be just as exciting! I'm looking forward to the next episode of my television show coming out in the next few weeks, and then four more episodes also debuting throughout the year. I've started working on my next book which should be released in late December of next year or early in 2018. I'm really excited about this new book and hope you all will be too!

I'm talking with several interesting companies and hoping to bring them on board as sponsors in 2017, and also working on developing a brand new Fresh Eggs Daily branded coop bedding product soon as well. So stay tuned for all of that.

This past year I traveled to New York, Pennsylvania, Florida, Kansas and Texas, appeared at various local Tractor Supply stores for Chick Days and even taught my first chicken keeping class. For the coming year, I have trips to Tennessee, Texas and Seattle already planned - likely other locations to announce soon - and will be teaching several classes around the Bangor area in the spring. It's all been so much fun getting to meet so many of you in person throughout the year ... but as you all know, there's no place like home! Take a peek at our week.

Thanks again to everyone who has been following along on my journey....I'm not sure how I can top 2016, but I'm sure going to try!
