Take a Peek at our Week - Nov. 4-10

We had a fairly quiet week this week. I took advantage of a break in the rain to get some tulip and daffodil bulbs planted - 150 in all! - so hopefully we'll have lots of nice spring color in a few months!  Our spring Littles turned 22 weeks old on Monday and Baby Charlotte, one of our black Australorps, laid her first egg. In fact, she's laid an egg each day for the last four days!

I baked an apple pie and some cookies to get in the spirit of the season and gave the coop a good cleaning. I'll use all the coop bedding I cleaned out to mulch our garlic over the winter. I'm hoping the fairly warm weather continues as least long enough for me to get the garlic into the ground before it freezes...however, waking up to a snow-covered landscape this morning is making me wonder if I still have time!

The local newspaper came out to do an article on our farm mid-week for their weekly Homestead section which was a lot of fun (I can't wait to read it!), and then I ended my week down in Portland celebrating the grand opening of the brand new Duluth Trading Company store there! A huge thank you to everyone who came out to say hello yesterday! Now I'm enjoying tea in front of the fire. Enjoy this peek at our week!
